About Us

Women In Management Africa (WIMA) saw a huge gap in Senior Level Women applying for Senior Level roles and even low placement rates for Senior Women. While both genders browse jobs similarly, they apply to them differently. Research shows that in order to apply for a job women feel they need to meet 100% of the criteria while men usually apply after meeting about 60%.

To combat this, Naike Moshi founded the initiative known as Women in Management to promote and increase visibility for Senior-Level Women in Management. The idea came to feature 50 Senior Women in Management to our Social Media Pages "Career Women Wednesday" This idea created a lot of buzz and traction by inspiring emerging leaders showing them it's possible for them to reach the career leader specially for female professionals.

Objectives

Women In Management Africa (WIMA) promote gender parity and encourage female participation in the labor force by honoring Professional Women in their careers and motivate more women to take leadership roles in the workplace.

Even in today’s modern workplace, women face many barriers, including lower pay for equivalent positions, unconscious bias, and low number of women in senior positions. The Main Objective of this Initiative for Women Professionals is to enhance the importance of actively involving Women in Senior Level roles and their challenges through their representative organizations.

1

Identify education and training workshops that are designed by women for women and help them address gender disparity issues in the work environments.

2

To build a wide database of highly qualified female professionals across multiple sectors to serve as board members and C-Level executives in private sector.

3

Women in Management will provide mentorship and encourage and develop emerging Talented female professionals to be inspired in their careers and being role models to them.

Mission

To promote visibility for women leaders across Africa.

Vision

Our vision is to cultivate a female leadership pipeline by supporting those who aspire to senior roles within the firm, while ensuring that those who may not choose this route feel equally valued for their contribution.

Values

Diversity:

We value all women. We will work to make our community and all our events as inclusive as possible.

Enabling:

We believe that within individuals and the community are all the resources women need to thrive. Rather than adding anything, we seek to empower others.

Accountability:

We value accountability and promote quality through continued reflection and improvement

Honesty:

We want to be transparent in our actions and decisions, including being honest about what we need and how we spend our money.

Patience:

We believe that real change takes time. We won’t push for quick fix results that don’t last but will give people and communities the time and space they need.

The main outcome of this initiative/ Programme is to ensure that women are honored and profiled for their great achievements in their careers thus leading to women’s economic empowerment. This initiative will support Sustainable Development Goals on the agenda, Goal 5, which seeks to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
